Aimed at discovering novel and improved therapeutic agents for the treatment of respiratory, inflammatory and other diseases, this leading-edge research facility is home to over 300 scientists.  The Merck Frosst Centre for Therapeutic Research runs a wide variety of exciting new research programs, including gene expression technology and proteomics, as well as research into a novel phosphatase, protein tyrosine phosphatase 1B (PTP-1B), which holds potential for developing a new drug for endocrine disorders such as diabetes.
